Bradley, Rosemary C. (nee Conover), passed away peacefully, on March 15, 2021. She was 82 years old. Rosemary was a true "South Jersey Girl", raised in Kramer Hill and Merchantville where she was a majorette and graduate of the Merchantville High School Class of 1956. She always remained involved in the high school alumni association and reunion planning, with most recently her 65th reunion coming up. She was a longtime employee with New Jersey Bell then AT&T and retired after managing the Cherry Hill and Burlington Phone Center Stores. Rosemary was the cherished daughter of the late James and Rose (nee Hewitt) Conover, daughter-in-law to the late Mason E. Sr. and Anne G. Bradley and former wife of Mason E. Bradley, Jr. (Marlene). Loving mother of Michelle A. Bradley, Mason E. Bradley III and his wife, Tracey and Sandra L. Bradley. Predeceased by her beloved grandson Richard James 'RJ' Vogel. Loving grandmother of Connor Harris, Madison and Nora Bradley and dear great-grandmother of Rjay Michael Vogel. Dearly loved sister of Elmer Conover (the late Bunny), the late James Conover (the late Adella, Jean), the late Ronald Conover (Barbara), and aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as grand & great nieces and nephews. On Feb. 16, 2021, Joanna M. Thomas (nee Tortorella) of Cherry Hill, formerly of Haddonfield. Beloved mother of Adam Thomas of Long Beach, NY and Oren R. Thomas, IV of Atlantic City, NJ; Loving grandmother of Oren V. Also survived by former daughter-in-law Erin Egan. Joanna was a teacher of British Literature at Camden Catholic HS (1985-2000) and of American Literature at Washington Township HS (2000-2013). Joanna loved animals, the environment, traveling once a year as well as being an avid and excellent bridge player. CCHS remembered Ms. Thomas as an incredible teacher who influenced many during her tenure where her passion for literature no doubt inspired many to explore their writing talents in college and beyond. James J. Eichman “Jim”, of Westville, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday February 10, 2021. Jim was a long time member of the Merchantville Fishing Club, a regular at their annual awards banquet and a frequent attendee at most kid events with his grandchildren. According to his obituary, Jim loved all things outdoors, be it fishing and trapping, gardening and hiking, and even metal detecting. He truly loved the outdoors and passed this love of nature off to his children & grandchildren who surely will continue in his footsteps. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Deborah L. (Marcus) Eichman; children, Jimmy, Kevin (Kelly) and, Lisa Groves (Jeff); and, grandchildren Madeline, Ellie, Hannah, Connor, Claire, Matias and Jocelyn. A great guy who will be missed by all members of the club.
Patricia Schaffer, of Wildwood, NJ passed away at home Wednesday February 3rd, 2021. Patricia was born in Delair, NJ to Albert J. Wigmore and Anne Wigmore (nee Hunt) on March 24, 1942. She graduated from Merchantville High School in 1960 and moved to Wildwood in 1967. She was a local business owner of two businesses, Schaffer's Variety and Schaffer's Discount stores in the 80's. Pat was an avid bowler in the local leagues, prior to her athletic and workforce retirement in 1994. Trish is predeceased by her husband of 52 years Ralph L. Schaffer Jr., survived by daughter Denise Swick, son and wife, Ralph and Rhonda Schaffer III, son and wife, Joseph and Yulia Schaffer. Full obituary.
Richard “Dick” Storey Sr., 93, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021. He was born July 2, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to James Robert and Mildred Ethel (Strawbridge) Storey. The second of two children, he grew up spending summers at a family cottage in Dauphin, Pennsylvania, on the Susquehanna River, where he learned to love swimming, rowing and outdoor life. In 1955, after the birth of their second son, James, he took a new job as a quality control manager with Campbell Soup Company. The family moved to Merchantville, New Jersey, where their third son, Robert, was born. Over the next 40 years with Campbell Soup Company, they lived in 10 different locations around the United States, New Jersey, Minnesota, California, Arkansas and Ohio. Dick was preceded in death by Ann, his wife of nearly 70 years; and his sister, Marjorie (William) Reinaker. He is survived by three sons, Douglas (Claire), James (Robin) and Robert (Anne); seven grandchildren, Robert (Kate), Sarah (Brendan) McGillick, Brian, Nathan (Zara), Elena, Nicholas and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Jane and Mattax; and many nieces and nephews. Age 70, of Voorhees, formerly of Merchantville; passed away December 28, 2020 of Covid-19 related complications. Predeceased by his parents, William C. and Inez E. Fallon of Merchantville and brother James, he is survived by his daughter Victoria (Benjamin Patti), son Thomas (Meghan) and grandson Tommy, daughter Jenna, sister Mary (Nettleman), brothers William, Robert, John, Joseph, Peter and Paul. Tom was a graduate of St. Peter School, Merchantville H.S. and Camden County Community College. He and his former wife, Patricia (nee Cinelli), owned and operated several businesses, including Fallon ARCO and Shell service stations in Merchantville. Tom is remembered as a fun loving, dry humored, avid follower of Penn State football. Energetic and trusting, always ready to help out a buddy, he was also a leader and eager to entertain friends and family with pranks. Full obituary.
