Merchantville Scout Troop 119 will host their Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, February 29th, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Trinity UMC Church, 36 W. Maple Avenue, Merchantville. This is one of the few fundraising events they hold all year and they need your support so please join them for a delicious pasta dinner to support year round girl and boy scout activities. All proceeds to benefit Merchantville Troop 119. Dinner is $10.00 Adult and $5.00 Child. Thanks!

Surf City Bait & Tackle will be open at 4:00 a.m. and Jingles Bait and Tackle at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15th, stocked with all your bait and tackle needs for Saturday’s 5th Annual Merchantville Fishing Tournament! In addition, Jack’s NY Bagel, across the street, is also opening at 5:00 a.m and will offer a Fisherman’s Special! Any anglers that fish our 5th Annual Surf Fishing tournament on Saturday that are active or retired military will be given a free ticket into a raffle for this American Flag glider donated by Jeff Bajek @ Striper Bites lures. A beauty that would look good on display or hanging from a fishes lip. Be sure to get your ticket at the luncheon after the 2nd fishing session. Free lunch & prizes after fishing. Congrats to Merchantville-Pennsauken Little league 50/70 All-Star team on winning the District 13 Championship! MPLL, who had a bye in the first round, hosted and defeated Pemberton Little League at the Elm Avenue field and will now move on to the Section 4 Tournament which starts July 5, 2022 and is hosted by West Deptford. Come out and support the team in their challenge to go all the way. 50-70 Baseball is designed for the player that has experienced boys major league baseball play and is ready to move to a higher level of competition. 50' pitchers mounds and 70' base paths replace the 46' pitchers mound and 60' base paths of major league baseball. The game now has leads and pickoffs and looks a lot like High School baseball. Registration for MPLL 50/70 Baseball closes on 08/16/2022 at 05:00 PM. Season Dates: 09/10/2022 to 10/31/2022. Whether you're new to board games or a veteran, all are welcome to join in the fun on Saturday, June 4th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. EDT Kids, families, adults, seniors - everyone has a place at the table. GOTCHA is a group dedicated to getting gamers together in New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area. Any gamer is welcome; board games, role playing games, tabletop games, strategy card games, LARP, X-Wing Miniatures, and there are so many more options and opportunities. We play a lot of board games. We have a large gym to host and a few rooms near by, should the space become needed. In the event we are not able to use the gym, we will be on the top floor. Please use the back entrance connected to the church parking lot. The church's front doors will not be open. Do not let the stairs scare you, this event is handicap accessible with an elevator that can get you to the gym or the top floor. The church is allowing us to use this space for free. The 52nd Annual Ocean City Fishing Club Surf Fishing Tournament took place October 23rd, when 110 anglers from 19 fishing clubs, plus nine individual anglers, participated in the outing. During the tournament, 153 fish were caught - 133 sharks, 12 kingfish, seven kingfish and one, 10-inch spot. The prize for the largest fish went to a 17.5-inch needlefish caught by John Gustafson, from the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers team. The first-place team award went to American Angler Team “A,” with 72.75 points. RH Custom Rods Team Green was second, with 50 points, and third place went to the Merchantville Fishing Club Team “A,” with 44.25 points. Points were earned by the particular species and the number of fish caught. If interested, Merchantville's Fishing Club meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at the Merchantville Community Center at 8:00 p.m.
Did you know that girl and boy scouts from Troop 119 meet at Trinity Methodist Church every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.? Our girl scouts moved Witch’s House into position in Monsterville earlier this week. Annually, these club members have a fundraising events, host a Spaghetti dinner, move Merchantville's Santa shack into the center of town, compete in a Klondike derby and host a car wash. Fall Ball registration is open for all divisions of Merchantville Pennsauken Little League baseball and softball - except for tee ball. Online registration runs through August 26th. Offerings: Coach Pitch Baseball, Minor and Major League Softball and, Junior and Major League Baseball. Season Dates: 09/10/2021 to 10/31/2021. Fee: $100. Mustang Softball registration is also available for high school age players at $160. MPLL is also looking for enthusiastic individuals who are interested in coaching softball or baseball for our fall and/or spring season. Questions about what's involved?
