COMING THIS WEEK to 20 Monsterville doors near you is a "You've Been BOO-ed!" bag filled with SPOOK-tacular treats! These Boo bags will be the kick-off to this community activity that spreads magically from house to house across our little hamlet. First one neighbor, then another and, before you know it, it's your house! Welcome to the wonderful world of Halloween BOO-ing. This secret tradition of friendly community fun surprises neighbors, friends or family with a treat bag that you make and leave at their door. Halloween BOO-ing begins when one neighbor secretly leaves a small treat bag, a BOO-ed poem, instructions and sign at a neighbor's doorstep. The lucky BOO-ee is asked to post the sign at their door, alerting others that "We've Been BOO-ed!" In turn, that friend or neighbor is asked to BOO two other households, creating a chain reaction of Halloween fun. Day by day, the BOO-ed signs mystically multiply and... before you know it the entire neighborhood is sporting "We've Been BOOed" signs, and guessing who gifted them! Anyone who needs copies of the BOO-ed poem, door sign or instructions can pick them up weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Monsterville Borough Hall. If you don't choose to participate, no worries, just pass your bag along to a neighbor!
Recently, 6abc LocalISH paid a visit to Charlie Koory at Charlie's Crepes where this Merchantville musician is strumming up both sweet and savory crepes. He and his wife, Lisa, fell in love with crepes on a trip to France and soon after learning the recipe, they were able to replicate their own version back here in the states. Stop by to enjoy a savory homemade chorizo taste tester moment including a dried Japanese chili. Let’s just say, this taste tester sample passes the test! Or, if you favor sweet, try his black forest version of "Cherries Suzette”. It's the same as his classic version, but with chocolate custard cream instead of vanilla. Charlies Crepes is open Wednesday to Friday - serving brunch Friday and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - and conveniently located right off the Merchantville Circle.
