Cupcake Decorating and More!

Planning on going out shopping for Small Business Saturday? Stop by The Station Coffee at the corner of Centre and Chestnut any time on Saturday, November 30th, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to take a break and decorate some cupcakes. For $15 you will receive three cupcakes, icing, and candy to decorate with. You may also like the following events from The Station Coffee. This Saturday, 9th November, 11:00 a.m. we'll have Thanksgiving Cookie Decorating in Merchantville. Next Saturday, the 16th of November, at 7:30 p.m. we're hosting a Swiss Fondue Pop up Dinner. And on November 23rd, join us for Thanksgiving Cookie Decorating at 11:00 a.m.

Costume Contest Brewing!

Think you've got what it takes to win the costume contest at Eclipse Brewing? There's still time! On Wednesday, Oct 23rd, they had a scary Halloween Trivia contest led by Michelle followed by a Halloween Party on Sunday, the 27th. So show your spooky spirit and stop in at Eclipse all dressed up anytime between now and November 3rd and, if we like your costume, we will take a picture. Winners will be decided on Sunday, 11/3. One male and one female will each receive a t-shirt, a pint glass, and 3 tokens - good for 3 beers!

Trick or Treat Downtown

On Halloween - Thursday, October 31st - look for the red flyer in local business windows for Safe Trick-or-Treating in the downtown. Participating Monsterville businesses will display this red flyer for any little ghosts, ghouls or goblins who'd like to get some candy for their goodie bag. And, don't forget to stop by Aunt Charlotte's to get some of their red delicious apples dipped in their one of kind caramel or red candy coating. Charlie and her Chocolate Factory. Mayor Brennan on Business

Merchantville Mayor Ted Brennan and Pennsauken Mayor Jack Killion were the guest speakers at the networking luncheon of the Pennsauken-Merchantville Area Chamber of Commerce, held on Wednesday, February 13th, at the Pennsauken Country Club. Mayor Brennan spoke about redevelopment, working to help create opportunities and events for local businesses both towns and the surrounding area. PMAC work as a "team" to help grow our businesses together and better serve our community. Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month and newcomers are always welcome. In addition to hearing from informative guest speakers, members gain an opportunity to network and create even more opportunities to grow in our great communities.  Sign-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting starting at noon. Sweeney Speaks at PMAC

Senate President Steve Sweeney addressed the Pennsauken-Merchantville Area Chamber of Commerce on October 9th about the state of New Jersey, where he spoke of the need for the state to promote economic prosperity, government efficiency and investment in public priorities. PMAC holds a luncheon every month. For October’s luncheon, they invited the Senate President to speak about legislation or policies that will affect the businesses of Pennsauken and Merchantville. Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland said that residents need more affordable services, "deserve to see real progress, and now is the time to deliver.” PMAC chair, Matt Gaskill, owner of Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home in Merchantville commented, “Senator Sweeney understands the importance of a thriving business community and how essential that is to the economic growth of surrounding communities."

Candy Workers Needed

Aunt Charlotte's Candies is hiring! We need factory workers to help in the making of our delicious candies. This includes feeding and taking candy off the belt and many other jobs. This position is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enjoy summers off with an unemployment benefit until the last week of August. It's a great job for people with young children! 80s Toys at the Fair

This Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, Merchantville's awesome "Play with This" toy store will be hosting its annual Toy and Collectible Street Fair. There will be lots of great toy vendors, special appearances, games, and so much fun. This event is on the same day as the Town Wide Yard Sale, so come by and check us out after your early morning scavenging. And please make sure to stop by my booth at 19 West Park Avenue, where I will have lots of rare and hard to find 80s and 90s toys at great prices. Some of the toys that will be featured at my table are: Transformers, She-Ra action figures, Star Wars action figures, Jem backstager, Nintendo NES, and N64 games. Also featuring Littlest Pet Shop figurines, Polly Pockets, American Girl dolls, Bitty Baby accessories, $5 grab bags and lots of vintage, hard to find plush!

Juice Bar Moves to 22

Saturday, September 14th was The Juice Bar's last day at 20 S. Centre Street. But, before you panic, they'll be moving the store right next door to 22 S. Centre Street - formerly Wirth's Florist. They plan to be closed for about a week in order to move everything over to the new location and are asking their customers to be patient during this transition. The Juice Bar's owner, Seth Amoah, promises it’ll be well worth the wait! This opens up a great downtown opportunity for a new business at 20 S. Centre - a large storefront, with beautiful display window and awning, on a busy street in the heart of downtown Merchantville. The 1,000 square foot space is renting for $1500/month and features a bright showroom with closet, back office with closet, half bath and back foyer with back door. The entire storefront has been freshly painted with sparkling polished floors.

Monkey, Niagra Fallfest

The Blue Monkey Tavern & Niagara Fire Company FallFest returns on October 5th at 5 p.m. This annual celebration on Centre Street in Merchantville will offer over 75 beers to sample, including from regional favorites Cape May Brewing, Dogfish Head Brewing and Kane Brewing. Your friend - the wine drinker will have wine options available. And food trucks will be plentiful! Tickets are $40 and available for purchase, $45 at the door - so don’t wait.
