Candy apples have been around for a long time. This vibrant red apple confection usually hits the shelves in the month before Halloween and you can find them every fall at Aunt Charlotte's. According to some sources, in 1908, a candy maker named William W. Kolb was looking for ways to draw customers into his little shop in Newark, New Jersey during Christmastime. To do so, he experimented with a red cinnamon candy, melted it down, and dipped apples on sticks into the sweet yet spicy coating. Delicious Red Candy apples and yummy Caramel Apples are being made now in Aunt Charlotte Candies factory so, stop by and get yourself a nice treat today!

Mike Denardo from KYW Newsradio interviewed Randy Oakford from Aunt Charlotte's Candies yesterday to talk about how the pandemic is impacting this year's Easter sales. Oakford said 40 percent of the store's annual revenue normally comes at Easter and the need to "stay-at-home" resulted in laying off two-thirds of her 35-person staff. However, although the volume of sales are down, customers have been very loyal and they have been busier than ever filling phone orders for curbside pickup, local delivery, or shipping - even causing their phone system to crash early in the week when 276 calls came in at opening time.

You can call in an order to be picked up - pay by credit card over the phone and ring the door bell on the side of our building - and a sales girl will bring it out to your car if you don't want to come inside. We also mail candy all over, just call (856) 662-0058 and ask for Paige who will take good care of you and, if you really can't get out we would be pleased to do local deliveries. Get those orders in soon so you can start filling those baskets!

Aunt Charlotte's Candies is hiring! We need factory workers to help in the making of our delicious candies. This includes feeding and taking candy off the belt and many other jobs. This position is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enjoy summers off with an unemployment benefit until the last week of August. It's a great job for people with young children!
