Mayor Brennan on Business
Merchantville Mayor Ted Brennan and Pennsauken Mayor Jack Killion were the guest speakers at the networking luncheon of the Pennsauken-Merchantville Area Chamber of Commerce, held on Wednesday, February 13th, at the Pennsauken Country Club. Mayor Brennan spoke about redevelopment, working to help create opportunities and events for local businesses both towns and the surrounding area. PMAC work as a "team" to help grow our businesses together and better serve our community. Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month and newcomers are always welcome. In addition to hearing from informative guest speakers, members gain an opportunity to network and create even more opportunities to grow in our great communities. MPWC Fee Notice
The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission will hold a public hearing for the purposes of taking testimony and public comment on the below proposed increase in both connection fees and general rates for water fees and penalties charged by the Commission. The Hearing will commence at 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2019 immediately prior to the regular monthly meeting of the Commission as noticed in its annual meeting advertisement. The hearing and meeting will be held at the administrative headquarters of the MPWC located at 6751 Westfield Avenue, Pennsauken, NJ, 08110. The proposed increases may be found here.
MERPEX 2019
The Merchantville Stamp Club will have MERPEX 2019 - Stamp Exhibition only - from October 26-29, 2019 at the Pennsauken Public Free Library located at 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., Pennsauken, NJ 08110. The exhibition is open to the public during library hours as follows: Saturday, October 26th from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sunday, October 27th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.; Monday, October 28th form 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and, Tuesday, October 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event will kick off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 with free refreshments. SPS Trunk-or-Treat
St. Peter School will have a Trunk or Treat & Car Decorating Contest for students & students families on Friday, October 25th. Spooky or Scary? Kooky or Crafty? Decorate your vehicle with any fun-themed decorations! All cars will be judged on creativity and originality and, the top two cars will win a prize! Admission: $5.00 per Family/one parking space included. Advanced Sales only. A numbered pumpkin will be sent home and is required for entry. Green Team Meets Tonight
Merchantville's Green Team will have their October meeting Thursday, October 17th, at 7:30 p.m. at the old Post Office, now Ryans Retail on Centre Street. Main item for agenda is the early planning for an Earth Fair on May 9th. Updates on existing projects and partnerships will be reviewed and initiatives for this fall discussed and planned. The Green Team is registered with Sustainable Jersey. They develop plans, implement programs, and assists with educational opportunities that support the creation of a sustainable community. The Merchantville Green Team was recently recognized at the Camden County Freeholder Meeting for work on sustainability! The Green Team meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
