The Merchantville Woman’s Club Evening Membership Department is sponsoring a Local Authors Night on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Merchantville Community Center. Six authors from our area will speak on their experiences in writing and publishing. Come and meet historical romance novelist Terri Brisbin, mystery writer Ilene Schneider, resident Paul Stridick, for his wife essayist and poet Janice Wilson Stridick, children’s author Traci Dunham, non-fiction writer Patty Sheey and Courier-Post reporter and author Carol Comego featuring her historical book on the Battleship New Jersey? To celebrate their 120th anniversary, the Woman’s Club of Merchantville will be hosting a special guest day on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 12:00 p.m. at the Merchantville Community Center, 212 Somerset Ave., Merchantville, NJ. The program will feature a brief history of the Merchantville Woman’s Club and its impact on our local community over the past 120 years. A special display of vintage clothing from Rebecca's Vintage Boutique & Consignment Shop of Bordentown, showing the evolution of women’s fashions from 1894 to 2014 will be presented. Muriel Boushell Graham, 90, formerly of Pennsauken, a pianist for Haddonfield Plays and Players productions in the 1970s and 1980s, died at her home in Simpsonville, S.C., on Wednesday, March 4.
A memorial service has been set for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at St. Peter's Church, 1 Hartford Rd., Medford. Born in Merchantville, Mrs. Graham graduated from Merchantville High School.
Merchantville is Laura Nickollof Panarello's hometown. Her son Connor, who attends Mercahntville School, was diagnosed with Hemifacial Microsomia at birth. 4 Towns 4 Art presents the third annual Open Studio Tour. Eight South Jersey towns are highlighted -- Barrington, Collingswood, Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Haddon Township, Merchantville, Oaklyn, and Pennsauken -- with 28 artists participating. Studio disciplines include painting, ceramics, fiber arts, drawing/illustration, photography, sculpture, mosaic, collage, and leather work.

Corinne G. Shirk, formerly of Merchantville, NJ and Heron Point’s oldest resident passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at the age of 105. She was surrounded by her loving niece, Joan, and her caregiver, Pattie. Corrine was a teacher and retired from the Education Department on 07/74 after serving 34 years. Her hobbies were line dancing, handwork, knitting.
Merchantville resident, Brigid Brennan, AHP, CYT, CMT, will be giving a free talk on Ayurvedic Medicine and curbing the aging process at the Haddon Twp.
