The Voorhees branch of the Camden County Library System will host a screening and discussion about “Poet of Poverty” on Saturday, September 22, 2012, 2 p.m. “Poet of Poverty” is a documentary film exploring the experience of poverty in the City of Camden through the writings of a resident Catholic priest, the Rev. Michael Doyle. Among other things, Doyle argues that Camden has, over time, become home to sewage, trash and scrap metal processing facilities and is generally used as a dumping ground by the surrounding suburban communities. The public is invited to attend this engaging, community event, which will consider important policy issues with local impact.
Merchantville Kicks Off Summer Reading Program
Kids at the Merchantville Branch of the Camden County Library System welcomed Mr. Malcolm who used interactive storytelling in his presentation of “Life is But a Dream” on June 6, 2012. Library Book Sale
The Camden County Library System will hold its annual spring book sale on June 8th 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and June 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. a the Vogelson Branch Library in Voorhees.
