All Board of Educations in Camden County have opted to change the date of the election from April to November. To run as a candidate for the Merchantville Board of Education in the November General Election: Your petition must be filed with the County Clerk’s Office before 4:00 p.m. on or before Monday, July 28, 2014. Nomination Petitions are available at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours or can be downloaded here.

Hey there, Music Lovers! Next week downtown Merchantville will rock with fabulous local music, food, artisans and activities - even an evening Wine & Beer Garden! The Merchantville Music Fest - Saturday, July 12th, 2014 - a fun day for the whole family from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. For Kids we have the fun and fabulous Alex & The Kaleidoscope Band. This award-winning band will have you dancing and singing along in no time. Our second band is the always energetic, super imaginative and engaging, fitness-focused Lolly & YoYo! And, rounding off our three kid's music bands will be The Lara & Joe Show! They play rock 'n' roll for kids - everything from the ABC's to the Rolling Stones. They have been playing the Philly kid's music scene for a while and we are so excited to bring Pennsauken native, Joe, back over the bridge! Where else can you bring your family to see fantastics kids' bands for free?

The Summer Parks and Playgrounds Program begins Monday, June 24th and runs through Friday, July 26th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Merchantville Community Center. Children who have completed pre-K through 10 years of age are invited to participate. Fees are: $150.00 for Merchantville residents and $175.00 for non-residents. Registrations can be obtained at Merchantville Borough Hall, 1 West Maple Avenue or during the week of the program at the Community Center. Primary Election Day
Today is Primary Election Day in Merchantville. Our polling place is in the basement of the Community/Senior Citizen Center, 212 Somerset Street, at the end of Greenleigh Court. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On the Democratic ballot for Mayor and Council are Edward (Ted) Brennan, Andrew McLoone and Katherine Swann and, for County Freeholder, Louis Cappelli, Joseph Ripa and Scot McCray. There are no candidates for County Freeholder or local government listed on the Rebublican Primary ballot.
School Closings: Monday, 3/3/14
Five inches of snow or more is possible for far southern New Jersey, Delaware, southern Maryland, central and northern Virginia, the District of Columbia and West Virginia. Within this swath, a few spots could see up to one foot of total snow through late Monday afternoon. The following schools are closed: Merchantville School District, Pennsauken Township School District, Camden Catholic, St. Peter School, St Stephen's School, Camden Co. Technical School District, Bishop Eustace Prep, Paul VI High School and Audubon School District.
PD partners with homeowner security system
The Merchantville Police Department is taking part in a new system to help make your home safer, "INCASE". The system is electronically coded with three key pieces of information: the exact address of the home to which it is attached, the name of the homeowner, and the cell phone number of the homeowner.
Final week for MLL Registration
Register for Merchantville Little League on March 1, 2014 at the Community Center between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. This will be the final in-person opportunity to complete paperwork for the 2014 season. Registration is open for Baseball and Softball Tee-Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors, Baseball-50/70 and Juniors. Opening Day is Saturday, April 12th. Festivities will take place at the Main Field on Clayton Avenue.
