2015 Leaf Collection Guide

leavesBeginning the week of October 19, 2015 the Department of Public Works will only accept leaves that are either in a container or bagged. You can bag your leaves in open paper bags or place them in open trash cans at curbside on the week of your Yard Waste/Brush collection day, which is now on alternating Mondays. Residents must comply with the following guidelines to ensure pickup of their leaves.

East Side Yard Waste (Yellow Magnet) every 1st & 3rd Monday.West Side Yard Waste (Red Magnet) every 2nd & 4th Monday. No yard waste pick up on the 5th Monday. Magnets were distributed in the Fall. MPWC voted "best tasting" water

Over 970 drinking water professionals gathered in Atlantic City last week for the New Jersey Section American Water Works Association's  (AWWA) 80th Annual Conference. The conference offered almost three full days of educational sessions on topics including water treatment, regulations, management and pipeline recovery.Seven organizations submitted samples for a public water taste test. Smoking Ordinance Introduced

At the Borough Council meeting on March 9th, Mayor Brennan introduced Ordinance 15-02 to regulate the use of tobacco products in all public buildings and spaces owned, operated or used for official business by the municipality, including public areas and recreation facilities. The public hearing for this Smoke-Free Ordinance will take place on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Council chambers at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall, 1 West Maple Avenue. After public comment it will be considered for adoption. The ordinance will be added as Chapter 83A and is available for viewing prior to the meeting. Merchantville's Municipal Code can be accessed online.
