NJ Pen wants you to tell them about the people, places, and members of your community that make it what it is, and they’ll share those stories with their readers. They're asking their readers to help identify the people and places on which they should shine a light to tell those stories better. The categories include: The Local Hero, The Small Business That Changed My Life, The Most Welcoming Space, The Outstanding Public Employee or The Teacher Who Made a Difference. The interactive PSE& G Outage Map showed that fewer than 5 customers had reported they were affected by the storms that blew through the borough a fer hours ago. The outages were first reported around 5:18 a.m. and electricity is expected to be restored by 10:30 a.m. The reports are from the east side of town on Franklin Avenue and west side on Springfield.

From June to October, on the First Friday of each month, Merchantville will run a Night Market with fun for the whole family including food trucks, vendors, live music, movies and more in the downtown along Chestnut and Centre streets. Many local food businesses and retail shops will be open late and word on the street is that Merchantville will be celebrating their 148th Birthday during opening night with a bounce house, some activities for kids. The site assigned ratings to towns with populations of 1,500-plus based on factors such as schools, safety, affordability and diversity. Merchantville ranked #7 in Camden County, but we think it's #1.
