Ray Woods, was the top vote getter in the Democratic primary election for Borough Council tonight. He is expected to succeed Griffin Kidd, who will step down after one term, in the 2019 General Election. Also elected was incumbent Anthony Perno who resides on Cedar Avenue with his wife, Jen, and three boys and will be seeking his 5th term on Council. Woods, 32, and his wife, Molly, live on Plymouth Place on the eastern side of town. He grew up in Collingswood and moved to Merchantville in 2016 and chose to run to ensure that Merchantville remains a place where children can receive a high-quality education, have beautiful parks where they can play, and have access to great community programs. No Republican candidates were on the ballot for municipal election.
