Townwide Yard Sale Returns
It's time to clear out your attic, basement and garage and unearth those give-aways because, after a years hiatus, Merchantville's Annual Town Wide Yard Sale is returning. This community yard sale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 18th, from 10-4, and no registration is required. This is a great opportunity to promote our historic town and practice the Green Team's 3Rs - Reduce - Reuse - Recycle! Reduce the amount of consumables that need to be made or replaced. Reuse something with life still left in it. Recycle to make a positive impact on the environment. The yard sale will be advertised locally on websites and social medial outlets. This event attracts large crowds of junk-lovers ready to bargain and repurpose all your discarded gems. Don't forget - one person's trash is another's treasure.

Memorial Vigil Planned
The Camden County Board of Commissioners and the Addiction Awareness Task Force invite family and friends on Overdose Awareness Day, August 31st at 7:30 PM to remember the loved ones we lost, and spread the message of hope to those still fighting the disease of addiction. Join us to help raise awareness of the crisis we’re facing within our community, help erase the stigma and advocate for change. Families were invited to submit the names and photos of their loved ones prior to the event to be shown as part of a remembrance slideshow. The slideshow, in the intimate setting of the vigil, provided a rare opportunity for families affected by loss to remember and celebrate their lost loved ones publicly. The photos also served as a stark reminder that drug addiction has become ubiquitous, affecting diverse communities in our area and across the nation. To learn more about this event, Click Here.
FDA Shrimp Recall
More than two dozen shrimp products sold nationwide by retailers including Target and Whole Foods were recalled by the FDA on Friday in a salmonella outbreak that has stricken nine people in four states, hospitalizing three, federal authorities say. The recalled shrimp was sold coast-to-coast under multiple labels, such as Whole Food's 365 brand and Hannaford's Nature's Promise. Potentially tainted shrimp includes tempura rolls sold at Target stores in California and rings of frozen shrimp distributed by Chicken of the Sea and sold at Meijer, along with bags of Meijer-branded bags of frozen shrimp.
