Kristina Schmidt Carden

Kristina Schmidt Carden (nee Krouse) 61, on February 16, 2012 of Merchantville. Daughter of the late Richard E. and Mary Shirley Krouse; Loving Mother of Tiffany (Andy) Bordi; Beloved Wife of Paul Carden; Loving Sister of Richard (Theresa) Krouse; Devoted Grandmother (GG) of Cameron and Madelyn Bordi and Favorite Aunt. Also survived by many close friends & family. Tina, a lifelong resident of Merchantville was co-owner of the Green Marquee Antiques shop. She enjoyed a 30 plus year career as an antique dealer where she met and developed deep and loving friendships. She loved her family, dogs, birds, gardens and valued social time with her close friends. Tina was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville where she served as Deacon visiting and caring for the elderly community. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thurs., Feb. 23rd at 2:00 followed by a Service of Witness to the Resurrection at 3:00 at the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville, 10 W. Maple Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Tina Schmidt Carden to the Memorial Fund of the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville.

Helen Ann (Williams) Stevens

Helen Ann (Williams) Stevens, age 85, of Moorestown, passed away on January 25, 2012. Born and raised in the Frankfurt section of Philadelphia, she graduated in 1948 from the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her husband of 59 years, Newlin W. Stevens, who predeceased her. Helen resided and raised a family of five in Merchantville, NJ all who survive her, Lynne Shand (Rt. Rev James J.), Cheryl Barlow (John), Karen Franklin (Bob), Janet Stevens (Peter Burgess), Kenneth (Anne) and 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Helen loved traveling and spending time with family and friends, most of the time in same near water or boating related venue. A woman of strong faith, Helen volunteered and helped with many church endeavors' throughout her life. Helen was also very active in Girl Scouts serving at many levels of the organization. Helen has given everyone she met a gift of inspiration and love. She will truly be missed. Visitation Thursday (1/26) 6-8 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 East Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. James H. Weidner, 77

James H. Weidner of Merchantville, N.J. passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. He was 77. He was the beloved husband of Regina (Stewart) Weidner and father of J. David Weidner, Jeffrey Weidner and Timothy Weidner. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Lee, Dillon, Gavin, Jillian, Hannah Lynn and Nicholas, and one sister, Patricia Goodwin. Jim was born in Carlisle, Pa. and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was an English teacher for over 30 years in the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed outdoor photography, fishing and bowhunting and later was the captain of his vessel, the “Sandy Claws”, making numerous trips with Regina to the Chesapeake Bay. He was the founder and creator in 2000 of the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society using the call sign K2JXW. Jim was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Office of Emergency Management for the Borough of Merchantville. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Alloway Funeral Home, 315 E. Maple Ave., Merchantville. Vincent C. Barone, 88

Vincent C. Barone, age 88 of Merchantville passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018. A longtime resident and veteran, Vincent owned and operated the family painting and wallpapering business for over 40 years. He was an inductee in the Philadelphia Mummers Hall of Fame and a member of St. Peter RC Church in Merchantville for over 56 years. Vincent loved going fishing with his brother Frank and always enjoyed the time spent with his loving family. Grandfather of the late David, he is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; three children, Cynthia Reece (Bruce), Sandra Stoltz (Michael), Barbara Good (Michael); six grandchildren, Stephanie Thress (Robert), Brian, Christina, Matthew, Anna, Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Torri and Robert; a brother, Frank Barone (Nancy); his Aunt Rose; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm and again Thursday from 9 to 9:45 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Ave., Merchantville. Elaine Hartman Panico, 94

Panico, Elaine Hartman, 94, of Margate formerly of Ventnor, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday December 20, 2018 beside her ever-loving daughter and caretaker Lorne Panico. She was raised in Merchantville, NJ by her parents Edward and Eleanor Hartman. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Dr. Frederick G. Panico and brother Earl Hartman. Elaine earned a Bachelor's degree in nursing at Jersey State Teachers College (now called The College of NJ). She was studying for her masters degree in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania when she got swept off her feet by a young medical student named Fred. Memories may be shared here.

Jean DeBell-O'Neal

Jean “Patsy” T. DeBell-O’Neal passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Balfour Retirement Community in Louisville, Colo., on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018. She is survived by her stepson-in-law, Michael Wirtz of Santa Fe, N.M.; step-grandchildren, Brian (Maria Wirtz) of Auburn, Calf., Carla Wirtz (Chris Lamson) of Longmont, Colo., Lara Wirtz Fahnestock (Todd) of Englewood, Colo., Carmen O’Neal of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Caity O’Neal Turner (Josh) of Candler, N.C.; her nieces, Georgine Traver of Newman, Ga., Kristine Trites of La Crescenta, Calif.; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Jean was born on March 7, 1927, in Merchantville, N.J., the daughter of George and Jennie DeBell. Jean lived a rich life, full of exploration, education and adventure. Full obituary notice.

William F. Waldron, Sr., 78

William Francis Waldron, Sr. of Merchantville passed away Monday, December 17, 2018. He was 78. Born September 21, 1940 in Camden and grew up in Collingswood, William was a graduate of Saint Joseph High School, University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers University.  He started working at Campbell Soup Company in 1958 in the mail room and continued for 42 more years rising to Senior Financial Analyst.  His faith and church were very important to him and he passed his love of faith to his six children.   He was a soccer coach, a basketball coach, a religious education teacher and a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Carole, four sons and two daughters.  William (Liz) of Metuchen, David (Holly) of Tampa, Shawn (Angela) of Merchantville, Stephen (Stacy) of West Chester, Elizabeth (Dan) of Jersey City and Colleen (Andrew) of West Chester.  Full Gaskill-Brown obituary.
