Multiple water related incidents occurred during from last evening's storm. Water rose to flood levels on Ivins Avenue, Glenwood Avenue, Chestnut Avenue and many Merchantville side streets. Pennsauken Township was involved in a number of water rescues along and around Route 130 and 48th Street. During heavy rain and flash floods. Watch for flooding in your basements. Make sure that home water removal equipment, like your sump pump, is working. The National Weather Service calls for more flash flooding today. and call the Merchantville Police or Fire Department with any emergencies.

PATCO service is suspended this morning, 6/20/19, as a result of issues created by last night's storm. Several stations flooded & track ballast - the stone that holds track in place - in some areas washed away. Repairs & inspections of the line are underway. Storm damage at several NJ stations & track areas.

We had a double drop off of plastic bags this week, putting our current total to 152 pounds and the chance to win a FREE recycled park bench form TREX! Shout out to our #BinIt2WinIt hero, Terri James Porter, who collected the plastic bags in my absence. Don't forget, drop offs can be made at Blue Monkey Tavern, Ryan's Retail, and at the Merchantville Market Off Centre. Dr. Rudolph, formerly of Merchantville, NJ resided in Medford Leas, NJ at the time of this interview. As a doctor, his professional acumen, dedication, compassion and attitude has engendered confidence from his patients throughout his many years as a physician. As a friend, his firm hand shake, warm greeting, broad smile, and cheerful conversation; connote a genuine friendship to old as well as new acquaintances. As a highly respected citizen, his cooperation with and attention to civic, social, and benevolent matters have neither been slighted nor have they been neglected even though his profession demanded so much of his time. Service to his country, during World War II, in the European Theatre, further attests to this. At the MHS Annual Meeting, they highlighted his life in Merchantville from 1922 through 1977.

Mrs. DiBease is hosting a summer reading book club for St. Peter students entering 3rd, 4th and 5th grades and Mrs. Roseboro is hosting a math skills program for students entering 2nd through 5th grades. The Love in Motion Youth Group has decided on their next service project and are requesting donations. They will be collecting small or travel size items until July 6th to make “We Care” boxes. Items needed: toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, shampoo, soap, facewash, nail clippers, combs, brushes, tampons, sanitary pads, deodorant, wet wipes, razors and chapstick. The kids will be assembling boxes for men, women, and children with the donations received, then distribute them in the cities of Camden and Philadelphia.
