Patricia Schaffer, 78

Patricia Schaffer, of Wildwood, NJ passed away at home Wednesday February 3rd, 2021. Patricia was born in Delair, NJ to Albert J. Wigmore and Anne Wigmore (nee Hunt) on March 24, 1942. She graduated from Merchantville High School in 1960 and moved to Wildwood in 1967. She was a local business owner of two businesses, Schaffer's Variety and Schaffer's Discount stores in the 80's. Pat was an avid bowler in the local leagues, prior to her athletic and workforce retirement in 1994. Trish is predeceased by her husband of 52 years Ralph L. Schaffer Jr., survived by daughter Denise Swick, son and wife, Ralph and Rhonda Schaffer III, son and wife, Joseph and Yulia Schaffer. Full obituary.

Dick Storey Sr., 93,

Richard “Dick” Storey Sr., 93, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021. He was born July 2, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to James Robert and Mildred Ethel (Strawbridge) Storey. The second of two children, he grew up spending summers at a family cottage in Dauphin, Pennsylvania, on the Susquehanna River, where he learned to love swimming, rowing and outdoor life. In 1955, after the birth of their second son, James, he took a new job as a quality control manager with Campbell Soup Company. The family moved to Merchantville, New Jersey, where their third son, Robert, was born. Over the next 40 years with Campbell Soup Company, they lived in 10 different locations around the United States, New Jersey, Minnesota, California, Arkansas and Ohio. Dick was preceded in death by Ann, his wife of nearly 70 years; and his sister, Marjorie (William) Reinaker. He is survived by three sons, Douglas (Claire), James (Robin) and Robert (Anne); seven grandchildren, Robert (Kate), Sarah (Brendan) McGillick, Brian, Nathan (Zara), Elena, Nicholas and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Jane and Mattax; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas O. Fallon, 70

Age 70, of Voorhees, formerly of Merchantville; passed away December 28, 2020 of Covid-19 related complications. Predeceased by his parents, William C. and Inez E. Fallon of Merchantville and brother James, he is survived by his daughter Victoria (Benjamin Patti), son Thomas (Meghan) and grandson Tommy, daughter Jenna, sister Mary (Nettleman), brothers William, Robert, John, Joseph, Peter and Paul. Tom was a graduate of St. Peter School, Merchantville H.S. and Camden County Community College. He and his former wife, Patricia (nee Cinelli), owned and operated several businesses, including Fallon ARCO and Shell service stations in Merchantville. Tom is remembered as a fun loving, dry humored, avid follower of Penn State football. Roland H. Ernst, 78

Roland H. Ernst of Merchantville, NJ, died on November 13, 2020 at the age of 78. He is survived by his sister Henni; two brothers Bill and Gordon; grandchildren Amanda, Gregory and Andrew and several nieces and nephews. Pegie Barracliffe, Vocalist

On December 15, 2020, age 84, (nee McArdle) of Pennsauken, NJ. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard M. and is survived by two sons Richard Jr. and Robert (Lisa); eight daughters Peg Wilson, Annie Barracliffe (Carl LeVotch), Julie (late Russ) Nesst, Catherine (Tom) Erskine, Nora (Bob) Baker, Mary (John) Marlow, Jone-Marie (Randy) Altshuler and Carolee (George) Fisher. Charles 'Chuck' Schank, 85

Charles Edward Schank, of Wilmington, NC passed away on December 4th, 2020. Born February 15th, 1935 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Charles and Gladys Schank, he spent his early years in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. After graduating high school in Merchantville, NJ he attended Rutgers University, earning a degree in philosophy. He was then accepted to Yale Divinity School and received his Masters of Sacred Theology in 1959. He was ordained into the New York East Conference of the Methodist church in June, 1959. Carole Rowland, 81

Carole Suzanne Rowland (Ricords), 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020, in Ellicott City, Maryland. Born July 1, 1939, to Herbert And Margaret Ricords in Merchantville, New Jersey, she was the sister of Herbert Jr., Richard and Ann (Dare) and the family divided their time between Florida and New Jersey. Carole had the biggest heart, and worked tirelessly as a volunteer in every community she lived: cleaning and painting public housing, assisting with battered women’s shelters, health organizations in the early days of the AIDS crisis, The Innocence Project, Habitat for Humanity and cold-case files with the New Orleans Police Department. She is preceded in death by her husband and her son Robert. She is survived by her children Francine (Mark), Patrick (Lisa) and Maria; her daughter-in-law, Lesa Petri; her siblings, Herb “Sonny”, Ritchie and Ann (Dare); her grandchildren, Kate, Anthony, Nicole, Joseph, Phoebe, Taylor and Julia; and, her great-granddaughter, Evelyn. Full obituary.

Barbara Joan DeFranco

On November 16, 2020, age 78, (nee Sikorski) of Pennsauken, NJ. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J., Jr. and loving mother of Anthony J., III (Michele) DeFranco, Denise Slawinski (Richard) and Christine McGinley (Anthony Barone). She is also survived by 4 loving grandchildren Vanessa, Joseph, Andrew and Maximilian; 3 brothers Robert, Edward and Paul Sikorski and 2 sisters Janet Schwarz and Cathy Koestel. Barbara worked for the Pennsauken School System for 41 years. She was a member of the Merchantville Women's Club, past president of St. Peter's Altar and Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter Church and a former CCD teacher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. Margaret Haynes

Margaret L. (Lorenzo) Haynes of Mount Laurel, N.J. died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was 73. Margaret "Peggi" Haynes was born in Camden, N.J. She grew up in Woodlynne and later resided in Merchantville before moving to Mount Laurel in 1973. Peggi served on the Mount Laurel Board of Education for 39 years and first ran for the board in 1981. There will be a viewing from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel.  Interment will be at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery in Vineland, N.J. following Mass. Kathleen Lippy, 74

Kathleen Foster Lippy, 74, of Hampstead, MD passed away on July 24, 2020. Born December 9, 1945 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Harnish) Foster and the devoted wife of Donald Lippy. Kathleen was a graduate of Merchantville High School (NJ) class of 1963; where she excelled in all sports. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Lippy; daughter, Tracey Rill and husband Bradley; son, Matthew Lippy; four grandchildren: Tyler Rill and fiancee, Kristina Savage, Logan Rill, Keegan Rill, Molly Rill and great-granddaughter, Maci Rill. William D. Harrison, 33

On July 24, 2020, age 33, of Merchantville, NJ. He was the loving son of William J. and Darcy (nee Menzer) Harrison and loving bother of Nichole Harrison and Mark C. Harrison. He is also survived by 3 nephews Gray and Sam Howell and Brody Youngs; his uncle Michael (Robin) Menzer; many loving cousins; and his dog Jerry. Bill graduated from Holy Cross High School in 2002 and was an Eagle Scout. He worked at A-1 Searches in Merchantville and enjoyed cooking, music and festivals. He was also an avid Philadelphia Union Soccer fan. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
