Merchantville resident Suzanne Durocher, 50, was fatally stabbed last night and her daughter, Kristen, wounded according to police. The incident occurred about 10:45 p.m. at 162 Prospect Street. The attacker, Gilbert Villanueva of Camden, forced his way into the home of his girlfriend's mother

and fled the scene after the attack. He later showed up at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden with stab wounds to his hand and was taken into custody by police. Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk said Thursday afternoon he could not confirm if Villanueva's entry into the home had been forced. "It was a domestic violence incident, and the boyfriend of the daughter is in custody," he added. According to the prosecutor, a restraining order barring Villanueva from the residence had been filed, but was later withdrawn before it could be served. Villanueva was charged Thursday with Felony Murder, Attempted Murder, Purposeful and Knowing Murder and 2nd Degree Burglary, according to investigators.

Durocher was the associate chief nursing officer of operations at Temple University Hospital. She received her undergraduate degree in nursing at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and a master's degree from Villanova University. On Feb. 15, 2011, Robert Durocher, then 52, husband of Suzanne and father of Kristen, was killed in an industrial accident in Moorestown. http://bit.ly/17vVArx
