HALLOWEEN UPDATE: The Borough has moved recognition of Halloween and trick or treating to Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 1 - 5 PM. Borough Code § 19-6. Halloween. it shall be unlawful for any child under the age of eighteen (18) years to be upon the public places of the Borough of Merchantville after the hour of 7:00 p.m., prevailing time, on the 29th day of October, the 30th day of October, and the 31st day of October, until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, unless exempted from this section under Section 19-3 of this chapter.

 

Safe Halloween Tips

 

On Tuesday, August 14th at 7:30 p.m. a public hearing will be held before the Merchantville Zoning Board at Borough Hall on an appplication to permit non-conforming use certification or use variance relief for a third floor apartment in an R-2 Residential Single Family District at 116 E. Walnut Avenue. The applicants are owners Luis Carrion and Barbara Capaldi, 3471 Gladwyn Ave., Pennsauken.

You can help keep the environment clean and green on Saturday, June 23rd, by participating in the combined Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Collection drive-through event at Camden County College, Peter Cheeseman Road, Blackwood, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Click here for more dates and a list of what to bring.

The Merchantville Public Works department would like to remind residents that Borough trash pick up will take place on Friday, July 6th, not on Thursday, July 5th. Thank you and have a safe July 4th Holiday.

Come join us for some summer fun!  The Summer Parks and Playgrounds Program begins Monday, June 25th and runs through Friday, July 27th at the Merchantville Community Center. Children who have completed pre-K through 10 years of age are invited to participate.

On the agenda at the Council caucus meeting this week are resolutions appointing Roy Adair as new Public Works manager, six liens for property maintenance, an RFP for 109 Myrtle Avenue and 309 Plymouth Avenue, liquor license renewals for Manasur, Mitchell Z and First Jay and hiring of Patricia Fields as the 2012 Parks and Playgrounds administrator. Also to be discussed are the use of the Community Center grounds by St. Peter’s and hiring of two reserve police officers Robert Mulhern III and Dominic Massimoare.
