On Friday, January 10th, Merchantville School's future leaders were looking sharp and confident at the Model UN Middle School Conference in Hershey, PA, to participate in competition under the guidance of teacher/moderator Shawn Waldron. This program offers students an incredible opportunity to step into the shoes of world leaders, engage in thoughtful debates, collaborate on global issues, and practice diplomacy and critical thinking. Our students impressed and represented

Merchantville with professionalism and poise. Lily Barnier - MES Envoy-B-Iraq -was recognized as a premier delegate; Genevieve Beauchamp - MES Press - was recognized as a premier delegate; and, Adam Hoffman - MES-Envoy-E-Nigeria - was recognized as the outstanding first year delegate.  Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more.
