The Merchantville Health Department and The Camden County Department of Health and Human Services recommends everyone get a flu shot this flu season. An annual flu vaccine can reduce illnesses in the community, decrease the time missed at work and school, and prevent flu-related hospitalizations and deaths. Don’t wait to protect yourself and your family. The Board of Commissioners has scheduled 10 locations for the 2024 Seasonal Influenza Immunization Program. As is the tradition,

the program begins at the annual Senior Health Fair, which this year takes place on October 9th at The Forum Wedding & Catering Hall at 109 N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The launch of the flu shot program is traditionally coordinated with the senior health fair because men and women ages 65 and older are among the “high priority” groups for annual shots. Some symptoms of flu and COVID-19 are similar; therefore, people may need to be tested to tell what virus is causing their illness.
