At Merchantville School, we are committed to helping our students thrive in every way possible. This January, our junior high students are diving into lessons on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Core Competencies -focusing on acquiring, building and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

These lessons are designed to empower our students to succeed not just in school, but in life. The New Jersey Department of Education has been promoting social and emotional learning to enhance the building of positive school climates and the healthy development of young people. Together, we’re fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and personal growth. Here’s to a great start to 2025 filled with positivity and success!
