Alijah Floyd-Brown's life will be celebrated during service at Alloway Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 1st at 11:30 a.m. Alijah was 9 years young and an incoming fourth grader at Merchantville School who bravely fought glioma cancer for 15 months. He passed peacefully on August 24, 2021. During those difficult months the school and greater Merchantville community stepped up to support the Brown family. That effort continues through an aftercare drive on GoFundMe. Alijah is survived by his mother, Galaxy Brown, father, Troy Floyd-Brown, his sister, Serenity Floyd-Brown, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Brown and GG Thomas Brown and, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. John Finlayson, 80
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the death of our beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, who passed away on August 3, 2021 at St. Anne's Retirement Community, Lancaster, PA. John L. Finlayson was born on March 14, 1941 to loving parents, John Lawrence and Sarah (Jones) Finlayson, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Merchantville, NJ, where he displayed an early entrepreneurial spirit, captaining a staff of newspaper deliverers and opening his own business, the snack bar at the Woodbine Swim Club. In addition to his career, John was an active community volunteer with stints on many community boards including the Merchantville Board of Education. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Virginia "Ginger", his sons John "Jay" (Michele) and James "Thad" (Shoko), his sister Nancy Padgett, his brothers Andrew Finlayson (Sarah) and Bruce Finlayson, his niece Cristin Ryan (Colin) and nephew Colin Padgett, his great nieces Caroline, Emily, and Caitlin, and his sister-in-law Ann Marie. Anna Unroe, 88
Anna Jackson Unroe was born Feb 1, 1933, in Camden, NJ to Philip Jackson and Florence McFarland Jackson. She was the youngest of 6 children. She peacefully ascended into the loving arms of Jesus August 7, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family. Anna graduated from Merchantville High School in Merchantville NJ in 1950, and continued her education at Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City NY where she received a Bachelor of Religious Education degree. Anna leaves behind Elzie, her husband of 66 years; daughters Nancy (Karl) Chadrick of Medway, OH, Becky (Mark) Anderson of LaPorte, IN, Judy Masterson of Sanford, FL; and son Timothy (Susan) of McCordsville, IN. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and 5 siblings. Full obituary.

Longtime Omak, Washington resident, Mary Hancock, marked her 101st birthday with a family gathering this week in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mary was born in Merchantville, NJ to Margaret and David E. Davis on August 8, 1920. She had an older sister, Gertrude, and a younger brother, David E. Davis.
Walter Lindquist, 86
Bob Lindquist, of Northfield, embarked on his final journey on July 15, 2021. Bob was born on October 27, 1934 in Camden, NJ to the late Edith (Svanfeldt) and Walter Lindqvist. A graduate of Merchantville High School in 1952. Bob was employed at New Jersey American Water, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service in 1996 (allegedly). Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephew, Michael, son RJ, and countless others that were lucky enough to know his secret spots. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife Margaret Anne (Reynolds) Lindquist, daughters Lisa Ann Lindquist, Lori Susan(Fred) Dinnini, Colleen Marie Sweeney, and son Robert James Lindquist (RJ), and grandchildren Cristina Lauren Sweeney, Gianna Nicole Dinnini, Ilana Eden, Joshua Evan Lindquist, Robert and Jane Reynolds (brother/sister in law), and beloved dog Buckley (Man's Best Friend). Sherry L. Rodgers from Merchantville, New Jersey, passed away on May 29, 2021, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by her father John Rodgers. She is survived by her sons, Joshua Rodgers and Josh; her mother Debbie Rodgers (Nee Mason); her siblings, Beth Lee, Shannon, Jenn (Joe Bupp), Lisa and Kelsey; and her friend Jocelyn Rhea.
