Vera Charlotte Hyncik (nee Zydor), a resident of Wiley in Marlton, formerly of New York City, Merchantville, and Mt Laurel, died on February 26, 2022 at age 93. Her husband of 70 years, Bill Hyncik, predeceased her in 2019. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Holly Sukenik (John), son, William (Marilyn), seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.Vera and Bill's third child, Lee Jay, passed in 1984. Carey, Gorman "Ray", Jr., of Woodbine, left us to go to his Lord and Savior to ride forever in heaven on February 27, 2022. Ray was born at Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden, August 6, 1953 to Gorman Ray Carey Sr. and Audrey Carey (née Stone). Ray grew up in Merchantville NJ and graduated from Pennsauken High School; he was also a graduate of ACCC. Long-time Merchantville resident, Gail Meister, passed peacefully on February 3rd from ovarian cancer at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Philadelphia. Gail was born January 24, 1947, in Rockville Center, New York, to Dr. Lee and Lenora (Fleischer) Roth. She is survived by her husband, Rev. J.W. Gregg Meister of Merchantville and a daughter, Miriam L. R. Meister, PhD, of Seattle, Wash. Gail lived a focused life, determined never to put off until tomorrow what could be experienced today. She, Gregg and Miriam traveled whenever they could, and she loved planning their trips. Shirley June Malunis, 87, passed away Nov. 10, 2021, at Providence Place, Pottsville. Born and raised in Llewellyn, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Petrick) Sedusky, she was a graduate of Temple School of Nursing, Philadelphia. Shirley spent her adult life working as an RN in Philadelphia while living in Merchantville, N.J and had been a resident at Providence Place, Pottsville, since 2016. Her parents, her husband, Joseph Malunis, and eight siblings predeceased her. Shirley is survived by her sister, Anita Sausser, Schuylkill Haven, and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment are private. At the age of 79, Steve was called to glory surrounded by his children and loved ones. He was one of 7 children born to the late Stanley E. Holmes, Sr. and the late Naomi Cream Holmes. He graduated from Merchantville High School, Merchantville, NJ. Along with his three brothers, S&S Holmes Inc. was established. A host of Holmes businesses were created in the Camden area and spanned almost four decades. Steve is survived by his son Stephen M. Jr, daughters, Kimberly, Natalie, Tara and Stephanie; brother, Vaughn B. Holmes, Sr; sisters, Valerie B. Kathleen Kichula (née Mulderig), 75, a Merchantville for many years, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022. She was the loving mother of Maureen Councillor (Thomas Bintliff, deceased) and Meredith Romea (Michael). Adored grandmother of four cherished grandchildren (Joshua, Madeline, Isabel and Ian) and former spouse of Bernard M. Kichula, deceased. Kathe was the dear sister of Pauline Smizer (Ed), John Mulderig (Susan) and Colleen Gangemi (Frank). Kathe was a registered nurse who spent her successful professional career caring for others including hospice patients and later, children with special needs at the Kingsway Learning Center. She was an avid reader, gardener, quilter and genealogist who enjoyed theater, Celtic music, Victorian architecture, Cape May and the beaches of LBI. Hope DeSales Caines (DeSales) of Maple Shade, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at Cooper Hospital on October 23, 2021. She was 90 years old. DeSales was born in Camden, NJ on April 4,1931 and grew up in Pennsauken, NJ and graduated from Merchantville High School, in Merchantville, NJ. In 1949 she met Robert B. Caines and they married on July 8, 1950 and went on to have two children. She work for the Pennsauken School District as an Administrative Secretary and continued there until she retired. She is survived by her son Robert B. Caines Jr. (Patricia) and her daughter DeSales A. Bryson (nee Caines) (Edward). Also survived by five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Full obituary.
