Spreading happiness
Today our youth group, Love in Motion, spent time with the residents at Golden Rehabilitation and Nursing in Salem, NJ. They talked and painted, passed out toiletries and magazines - thank you to those who donated - and gave out vases of flowers to brighten up their rooms. We plan to go back very soon to do more activities! We finished this beautiful day with a picnic to celebrate our wonderful youth volunteers for Global Youth Service Day. We are so proud of them and all they have been doing. Love in Motion is a place for young people to come together to engage in conversation, learn about community, give back, volunteer, and be a part of something bigger than themselves.
Softball seniors rule
Last weekend the Senior Girls Mustangs team from Merchantville started their 2019 season with a really big bang! Great job taking the top spot at Voorhees Villians Spring Warmup Tournament!! The team went 6-0 on the weekend scoring a total of 65 runs, batting a team combined .497 and keeping a combined ERA of 1.12. What a great way to start your season. We want to wish ALL of our high school players good luck this week with the opening of your 5 different high school seasons. Go Garnets, Eagles, Irish, Green Wave and Panthers!
New logo for town Dems
The Merchantville Democratic Club recently gave their logo a fresh, new look. Their motto, "Neighbor to Neighbor" - "N2N" - encapsulates their beliefs that guide the club as a place where residents interested in good government in Merchantville and service for the community can meet. The club was started in 1992 to create an opportunity for residents to engage in purposeful discussion of values and ideas around community service and social equality. They support candidates for election to borough offices who promote these principles.

MES Garden Club kids
The Merchantville Library loves the Merchantville School’s Garden Club! Today they planted pansies in the beds by our entrance. The club is made up of 3rd graders - sprouts - and 4th graders - saplings - who meet after school on Thursdays from spring through fall to rake and plant. They have an annual plot at the Community Center community garden. Thank you Merchantville Garden Club for making the library look so welcoming!
