Hannah Hidalgo’s Notre Dame rolled into Sweet 16 with 71-56 win over Ole Miss three days ago. Hidalgo, a Merchantville native and Paul V1 grad, had 19 points, four rebounds and four assists - one of three Fighting Irish players to hit double figures in scoring. Hannah is one of just five freshmen to ever earn first-team All-America honors in women's hoops, Rookie of the year and defensive player of the year in the venerable Atlantic Coast Conference
and Conference tournament MVP, too, for leading Notre Dame to the title. Now she's set for the biggest stage yet as the No. 3 scorer in Division I women’s basketball, at 23.3 points per game. ND Coach Neile Ivey put it this way, “The respect that she’s gained throughout the season is just because of the way that she plays. She plays with her heart, and she’s just a fantastic person - a great player, but even a better person.”
