A Town Hall Meeting, hosted by the Camden County Board of Freeholders, is scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd, at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken. The meeting includes a Q&A session, providing residents the ability to ask questions and get answers straight from a representative of the governing body and elected officials the opportunity to hear directly from their constituents. Following the Town Hall meeting will be a services fair featuring representatives from several county departments. Camden County's Board of Chosen Freeholders held their monthly meeting at the Merchantville Community Center last evening. Some proposed resolutions included an agreement between the county and Cooper River Yacht Club for kayak rental, $150,000 for countywide dam repairs, $500,000 for youth gang desistance/divergent grant funds, $32,000 for electronic faxing machines, $54,000 for video camera upgrades, and $966,000 for the purchase of a server system for the Department of Corrections. A Community Award was given to Cindy Hertneck from the Merchantville Garden Club, a sustainability award to Mary Ellen Lane for her work on the Cherry Hill Environmental Board, a proclamation honoring Camden native Theresa Thoulouis, Team USA gold medalist and individual bronze medalist at the WKC World Championship in Dublin, Ireland and National Spelling Bee champion, Shruthika Padhy, from Cherry Hill.
