William S. Finlayson III of Merchantville passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. He was 76. Bill was a longtime Pennsauken resident before moving to Merchantville 14 years ago. He was a member of the Mt. Holly Elks Lodge 848, and belonged to Timonium United Methodist Church, Timonium, MD. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sharon; three loving children, Kara-Lin Eller (Joseph), Stuart Finlayson, William Finlayson IV; three cherished grandchildren, Julian, Dane, Avalon; a caring sister, Janice Hands; and his dear niece and nephew, Kristen Engelke and Michael Hands. Susan J. Ott, longtime Pennsauken resident passed away Friday, May 31, 2019. She was 70. A graduate of Haddon Twp. High School and Glassboro State College, Susan had retired as a teacher for Camden City Schools after over 36 years of dedication. She was an active member and supporter of the Friends of the Pennsauken Library and Pennsauken High School’s many extracurricular activities. She thoroughly enjoyed her visits to Sea Isle City and the time spent with “The Posse” and her crochet club. Daughter of the late George and Lorayne Pims; wife of the late Andrew Ott; she is survived by her two beloved daughters, Lindsay Makrinos (Chris), Jamie Ott (Pete); a cherished grandson, Cameron; a loving sister, Lynn McHugh (Joseph); dear sister-in-law, Teresa Noell (Peter); and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Her memorial service will be held 11 am, Friday, June 7th at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Ave., Merchantville. Clayton J. Long of Merchantville, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He loved his dogs, the Phillies, the Eagles, warm weather, and reading in the sun. He was the son of Anne, and the late Nathan; devoted father of Jason (Carrie), Saralyn, and Samantha; lifelong friend to their loving mother Leanna; "Poppy" to his dear grandchildren Natalie and Jamie. Harriet M. Blaetz, lifelong Pennsauken resident passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was 94. Harriet had retired as a Registered Nurse after many years spent working for the Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia and several doctor's offices in PA and NJ. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Merchantville.Wife of the late Robert Blaetz; mother of the late John R. Blaetz; she is survived by her two loving children, Mary E. Blaetz of Pennsauken and Robert J. Blaetz of Collingswood. Funeral service and interment in Beverly National Cemetery will be private. Peter V. Mroz Jr., of Pennsauken passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. He was 85. A longtime area resident, Peter was an avid sports fan who loved playing cards and watching baseball and game shows on TV. He is survived by his loving wife of over 62 years, Phyllis (nee Messick); a beloved daughter, Denise Brouse (John); three cherished grandchildren, Jonathon Brouse, Benjamin Brouse (Lauren), Elizabeth Brouse; and a caring sister, Rose Gallante. Robert D. “Bob” Dempsey, 81, of Quarryville, formerly of Peach Bottom, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Miriam W. (Wilson) Dempsey, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Merchantville, NJ, he was the son of the late George W. and Ruth (Erickson) Dempsey. Bob was a graduate of Merchantville High School, Class of 1955. After high school, Bob attended the University of Delaware, earning a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1959 and a Master’s degree in animal husbandry in 1961. Full obituary.
