Winter Storm Watch in effect from Wednesday, February 12, 7:00 p.m. until Friday, February 14, 1:00 a.m. Precipitation should begin as mostly snow Wednesday night. The snow is forecast to change over to a sleet and freezing rain mix during the day Thursday before changing to snow and tapering off Thursday night. Snow accumulations are forecast to range from 4 to 8 inches, and ice accumulations are expected to range from a trace up to one quarter inch. Winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph will be possible on Thursday which could lead to power outages if significant ice accumulations occur by the time winds increase.
The Camden County Department of Public Works has begun planning and preparing for this long duration storm which could significantly impact travel across the region. Crews are brining the roads in preparation for icy conditions and will continue to work on keeping over 400 miles of county roadways passable. We encourage residents to stay off roads if possible, and if you must travel, allow extra time to reach your destination. If you see any road issues, call us immediately at (856) 566-2980 so we can address them.
In case of a power outage, please report it directly to the appropriate utility provider listed below. We encourage everyone to check on elderly or handicapped relatives and neighbors that live alone. It is important that the most vulnerable among us are not left without heat or electricity.

The Camden County Health Officer issued the severe weather advisory effective from 6:00 p.m. this evening until 7:00 a.m. on Feb. 11. The advisory will also be in effect from 6:00 p.m. Feb. 11 to 7:00 a.m. Feb. 12. Municipalities with homeless populations, situational homeless or transient populations are expected to activate their Code Blue response plan to accommodate their immediate needs. The Camden County Health Department and the Office of Emergency Management have worked with each municipality to ensure they have the proper resources to respond to these severe weather situations as part of their individual Code Blue plans. Each municipality has identified its own location to accommodate those in their community seeking shelter from the severe weather.
Persons seeking shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality or click here for a list of shelters. Most are open during the day, with local police departments serving as warming centers in the evenings and during off hours. Please call ahead for availability or dial 211 for homelessness assistance.
