Learn about the Commonc Core Standards and the PARCC assessment on Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30 in the Merchantville Library. The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a group of states working together to develop a set of assessments that measure whether students are on track to be successful in college and their careers.
These high quality K–12 assessments in Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy give teachers, schools, students, and parents better information whether students are on track in their learning and for success after high school, and tools to help teachers customize learning to meet student needs.
The NJEA launched an ad campaign against PARCC tests. On 2/23/15 the New Jersey Assembly passed a bill (A4190) that would delay the impact of new state standardized tests for three years, beginning next school year. The organizations representing New Jersey parents, principals and superintendents have launched a website to answer questions about the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exams.
