You might be wondering what became of the Merchantville Food Co-op you volunteered for a year or so ago. The Co-op, now called "Sustenance Exchange," is still in the works and making progress toward becoming a reality. Here’s the latest update! Here's What’s New: The Co-op Steering Committee recently completed the Keystone Development Center (KDC)’s Co-op Academy program, designed to help new cooperatives navigate challenges and implement best practices for success. Through this program, we collaborated with KDC

to develop our bylaws and take the first steps in planning our market study. Winter news also featured Steering Committee member, Brigid Austin. Brigid is a Merchantville resident who founded Sustenance Exchange Food Co-op and has been leading the group since 2023. At the volunteer meeting last spring, she said, "the co-op is currently in its early stages of planning, with the aspiration to open its doors in four to five years.” Thank you, Brigid, for your dedication, passion, and leadership!
