Merchantville’s Porchfest, Saturday, October 10th form 1:00-7:00 p.m., promises good vibes, local bands, and porch-side seats! Experience the full range that music provides from Indie Folk/Rock, Traditional Irish, Classic Rock/Jazz, Acoustics and Electronics to Punk and Ukeleles! Spend the afternoon in our beautiful neighborhoods discovering new music. Our inaugural Porch Fest is packed with an amazing lineup of musicians and ready to take over town. It includes 42 acts on 26 porches, all in one afternoon. Here’s a small sampling of what you can enjoy!
Meet The Danjonian Project at 47 W Chestnut Avenue from 1:30–2:30 p.m. Built around the musical chemistry of Dan, Jon and Ian, this groove-driven trio blends funk, soul, jazz and blues with plenty of spontaneous improvisation. Their sound is warm, organic and all about the joy of making music together.
Listen to Nicholas McKean – in his hometown – on guitar and vocals and Timothy Bretschneider on lead guitar and harmony for an indie-folk duo at 47 Chapel Avenue from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Expect plenty of Noah Kahan, some deeper-cut favorites, and songs chosen for the kind of emotional connection that sticks with you.
The Ground Cherries Americana/Folk band from Pennsauken will feature vocals, guitar, banjo, accordion, viola, mandolin and bass from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at 7 Lexington Avenue. They play a mix of originals and covers inspired by artists like Dolly Parton, Iris DeMent, Bella White and Sierra Ferrell.
Catch Hailey Rose at 300 Saint James Avenue from 1:30–2:30 p.m. – performing as a solo artist since 2016. Her #1 musical inspiration is The Beatles. She is excited to share her music, meet new people surrounded by other local musicians.
The Sound of Sirens, a New Jersey based tribute to the music of legendary Pop-Punk band Alkaline Trio will be performing with Fat Refund from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on the porch of 200 Woodlawn Avenue.
Hope you can make it to see Aris Gains Music at 205 Lexington Avenue from 4:00-5:00 p.m. This is his first gig in quite some time and he’ll be playing some originals as well as some covers. If you want to listen ahead of time just check out his 2024 album Echoes Of Solitude on Spotify.
You’ll find Ukes and Brews – a ukulele ensemble performing hits from the 50s through today on the porch at 20 east Cedar Avenue from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
The incredible Fenian Rams will kick off the inaugural Merchantville Porchfest on the porch at 37 East Rogers Avenue from from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., followed by The Amnesiacs from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and beverages, and hang out for the Irish session right after our show!
