The Rowan University String Ensemble is the university’s premier chamber string group. The group stands out because it operates as a conductorless orchestra, giving the student musicians a direct and active role in shaping the musical decision-making and interpretation process. It is an elite, audition-only group typically compromised of 10 to 15 elite string players on violins, violas, cellos, and double basses.
