On Saturday, July 15th, grab your bikes and head to Chestnut Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for a FREE event supporting bike and pedestrian safety. The Merchantville Police Department Bike Patrol will be on hand to work with kids aged 4-12 at a Bike Rodeo to promote cycling proficiency and safe riding - a fun way to introduce and educate children to bicycle skills and safety. Continuing one of IE Merchantville's small action, edible garden projects for the 4th year in a row began today with a lot of weeding, laying of barrier paper and adding topsoil and compost in hopes of making the 2023 growing season along the tennis court wall at Wellwood Park a successful one. Joan Brennan and her grandson, Jack, worked to clear the brick perimeter planter of leaves, weeds and debris before prepping the area with a fresh layer of nitrogen enriched topsoil.
