Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, advises municipalities that Camden County will be under a “Code Blue” severe weather advisory tonight. The Health Officer issued the severe weather advisory for Camden County effective today through Thursday.

Camden County needs volunteers to help with refurbishing donated bikes for its Bikeshare program, which seeks to provide bicycles on loan or permanent use for people in communities throughout the County that become local BikeShare members. Repairs are done Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m.- noon. Prior knowledge and bike repair skills are appreciated, but not needed.

Camden County Health Officer, Carmen Rodriguez, has issued a Heat Alert for Camden County through Friday, July 19, effective noon to 8:00 P.M. each day. The weather forecast for this week calls for the temperatures above 95° and heat indexes over 100°. Municipalities were notified to open municipal cooling centers to the public and residents in need should call 856-662-2474. Please remember to check on elderly relatives and neighbors during the heat emergency, and do not over exert yourself outdoors in the sun.  Heat Health Tips

The Camden County Board of Freeholders, through  Camden County’s Office of Veterans Affairs, is sponsoring a Veterans Workshop in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Philadelphia Regional Office on Thursday, June 27th from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Camden County College’s Regional Emergency Training Center
