Vincent C. Barone, age 88 of Merchantville passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018. A longtime resident and veteran, Vincent owned and operated the family painting and wallpapering business for over 40 years. He was an inductee in the Philadelphia Mummers Hall of Fame and a member of St. Peter RC Church in Merchantville for over 56 years. Vincent loved going fishing with his brother Frank and always enjoyed the time spent with his loving family. Grandfather of the late David, he is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; three children, Cynthia Reece (Bruce), Sandra Stoltz (Michael), Barbara Good (Michael); six grandchildren, Stephanie Thress (Robert), Brian, Christina, Matthew, Anna, Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Torri and Robert; a brother, Frank Barone (Nancy); his Aunt Rose; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm and again Thursday from 9 to 9:45 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Ave., Merchantville. James H. Weidner, 77
James H. Weidner of Merchantville, N.J. passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. He was 77. He was the beloved husband of Regina (Stewart) Weidner and father of J. David Weidner, Jeffrey Weidner and Timothy Weidner. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Lee, Dillon, Gavin, Jillian, Hannah Lynn and Nicholas, and one sister, Patricia Goodwin. Jim was born in Carlisle, Pa. and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was an English teacher for over 30 years in the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed outdoor photography, fishing and bowhunting and later was the captain of his vessel, the “Sandy Claws”, making numerous trips with Regina to the Chesapeake Bay. He was the founder and creator in 2000 of the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society using the call sign K2JXW. Jim was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Office of Emergency Management for the Borough of Merchantville. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Alloway Funeral Home, 315 E. Maple Ave., Merchantville. Merchantville Woman’s Club Celebrates 120th Anniversary
To celebrate their 120th anniversary, the Woman’s Club of Merchantville will be hosting a special guest day on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 12:00 p.m. at the Merchantville Community Center, 212 Somerset Ave., Merchantville, NJ. The program will feature a brief history of the Merchantville Woman’s Club and its impact on our local community over the past 120 years. A special display of vintage clothing from Rebecca's Vintage Boutique & Consignment Shop of Bordentown, showing the evolution of women’s fashions from 1894 to 2014 will be presented. Muriel Graham, pianist at theater, Camac St. bar
Muriel Boushell Graham, 90, formerly of Pennsauken, a pianist for Haddonfield Plays and Players productions in the 1970s and 1980s, died at her home in Simpsonville, S.C., on Wednesday, March 4.
A memorial service has been set for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at St. Peter's Church, 1 Hartford Rd., Medford. Born in Merchantville, Mrs. Graham graduated from Merchantville High School.
Corinne G. Shirk, 105
Corinne G. Shirk, formerly of Merchantville, NJ and Heron Point’s oldest resident passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at the age of 105. She was surrounded by her loving niece, Joan, and her caregiver, Pattie. Corrine was a teacher and retired from the Education Department on 07/74 after serving 34 years. Her hobbies were line dancing, handwork, knitting.
