Gerald (“Jerry”) Dewhurst Button died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family members, on July 7, 2014, in Loveland, Colorado. Jerry was born in Sidney, Nebraska on November 26, 1933, to Percy Leroy (P.L.) and Nell Button. He was the second of two sons; the first, Paul John Button, was later ordained as a Catholic Priest.His mother told the story of setting Jerry on the floor with an alarm clock and a screw driver when he was 4 or 5.

Girls academy remembered
An upcoming event will bring together graduates of a long-closed Catholic girls high school in Haddonfield. But the guest of honor will have a unique tie to St. Mary of the Angels Academy, founded in 1945 in a converted house off North Kings Highway. Diane Lovell, 55, of Merchantville, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. She was born to Eileen Meyers (Huth) and the late Harry Meyers on September 26, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the wife of William H. Lovell Jr. for 18 years. In addition to her husband, William, she is survived by her mother, Eileen Meyers; two stepchildren Diana Lovell and Billy Lovell; a daughter, Danielle Press; a son, Robert Press; a brother, Harry Meyers and family; and a brother, Steven Meyers and spouse.

Barbara Smith Johnston, 81, of Cherry Hill, a social worker for Ancora Psychiatric Hospital in Hammonton, N.J., and the Merchantville School District, died of complications from a stroke Thursday, March 6, at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
