Revisit the Jersey shore all winter long through the art of former resident Alice Steer Wilson. She loved her family first, her painting and teaching close behind, and she loved- loved being part of the Cape May renaissance, between 1970 and 2001. Active proponent and teacher of local artists/entrepreneurs with the partnership of husband, Fred. She saw beauty and possibility where others saw only work and investment. Her paintings inspired all and will be on public display and for sale in Alice's Congress Street home on Friday, October 2nd from 5-9 p.m.
More than thirty watercolors selected from her studio archives and the current exhibition will be included. Some of these works have never been offered for sale. Proceeds will benefit the Carriage House of the Emlen Physick Estate, where Alice Steer Wilson had her first solo exhibition in 1979, and where she taught and made so many lifelong friends. Refreshments compliments of the Washington Inn. Tickets: $25 online in advance, or $30 at the door. https://www.facebook.com/AliceSteerWilson
