This little crepe shop is well worth the trip, "especially for it's Bacon Jam that sells really well, paired with the Vanilla Bourbon Peaches, or capped off with a poached egg", says foodie trend writer, Joy Franklin, from PhillyBite magazine. Charlie's Crepes also carry "standard" crepes such as ham and cheese, as well as banana Nutella, although our favorites are the NJ farm to table variety highlighting seasonal fare. Stop by their shop on the Centre Street circle.

Yes, fiddleheads look like they came right out of a Dr. Seuss cookbook, but the furled fronds are actually a delicious, nutritious, and increasingly popular spring seasonal ingredient. The menu at Park Place Café & Restaurant in Merchantville is often busting with seasonal (even foraged) ingredients, so we weren’t surprised to find they celebrated fiddlehead season with a simple, show-stealing roasted side dish. Here’s a small round-up of New Jersey restaurants serving fiddleheads right now.

Owner/Executive Chef Alfredo Fischioni of "That’s Amore" in Collingswood has announced he will be opening a sister restaurant called Amore Mio in Merchantville. The location at 177 S Centre Street was most recently occupied by Ms. Nancy’s Place. Chef Nancy Miller left Merchantville to open a new restaurant in Burlington. Aiming for a May opening, Fischioni promises the same great Italian dishes albeit in a space even smaller than his Collingswood location. It will be interesting to see what kind of upgrades will be done to accommodate guests. If I recall correctly, it only seated about 20 people in tight quarters. Either way, this is exciting news for Merchantville.
