The clock is ticking, literally and politically. Daylight saving time is set to end at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, when clocks in most of the United States fall back one hour. On July 14, 2026 the House passed the Sunshine Protection Act 308-117 with 193 Republicans, 114 Democrats and one independent voting in favor of the bill which would make daylight saving time permanent nationwide, ending biannual clock changes. However the Senate left Washington without taking a vote and is not scheduled to return until after the November 3rd midterm elections meaning another clock change is not happening this year.
