Hannah Hidalgo’s Notre Dame rolled into Sweet 16 with 71-56 win over Ole Miss three days ago. Hidalgo, a Merchantville native and Paul V1 grad, had 19 points, four rebounds and four assists - one of three Fighting Irish players to hit double figures in scoring. Hannah is one of just five freshmen to ever earn first-team All-America honors in women's hoops, Rookie of the year and defensive player of the year in the venerable Atlantic Coast Conference
This week our NJHS students is lead the way spreading the joy of reading during "Read Across Merchantville School Week" and kicked off the festivities with buddy reading sessions, fostering a love for books from elementary to middle school. Our retired teachers - Ms. Fields, Ms. Turan, Ms. Harvey-Wilson, Ms. Ransom, and Ms. Batterman - returned as guest readers demonstrating their dedication to instilling a love of reading and lifelong enthusiasm and commitment to educational learning. Incredible Edible Merchantville wants to thank all the donors who supported our Team - Joan, Laura, Sarah, Allison, Elsa and Kathy - at the 2024 Knit for Food Knit-a-thon hosted by Eclipse Brewing! Shirley B. Hannigan, age 93, of Merchantville, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born in Glen Rock, NJ to the late Ray V. Beshgetoor and Adelaide (nee Ballou), she spent 10 years of her early childhood in Argentina while her father served as Director General of RCA SA, prior to the family moving to Merchantville in 1941. Shirley graduated from Merchantville School in 1948 where she met her future husband, John
